Dremo’s Man2Man Challenge is shaking the rap scene, pushing rappers to call out fellow artistes and creatives to settle issues through bars and lyrics. While rappers across Nigeria are jumping on it, Owerri’s rap scene is strangely quiet.
This silence is surprising for a city known for its lyrical talents. Instead of grabbing the opportunity for visibility and relevance, many Owerri rappers are offering excuses—being “too busy” or afraid of calling out colleagues.
Social media users are already calling them out, questioning whether Owerri rappers are truly hungry or just comfortable with local hype.
For a city full of good rappers, the lack of Man2Man covers is speaking volumes.
It’s really a nice blog.
