President Trump Supports ICE Agent Who Shot And Killed United States Citizen

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly defended an ICE (U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement) agent involved in the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis, claiming the officer acted in self-defense.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump said he had watched a clip of the January 7 incident, which shows ICE agents confronting a woman inside a vehicle that was blocking a street. As the driver attempts to move the car and drive off, another ICE agent positioned in front of the vehicle fires three shots through the driver’s side window.

Reacting to the footage, Trump wrote:

“It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”

While viral videos circulating online do not clearly show the officer sustaining visible injuries, Trump insisted the agent was lucky to be alive, adding:

“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but he is now recovering in the hospital.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has not provided details regarding the agent’s injuries but confirmed in an official statement that multiple officers were hurt and are expected to make full recoveries.

Trump also linked the incident to growing political tensions, writing:

“The situation is being studied in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our law enforcement officers and ICE agents on a daily basis.”

The shooting occurred during what the Trump administration described as the largest immigration enforcement operation in U.S. history, which saw a surge of federal agents deployed to Minneapolis this week.

Authorities say the incident is currently under investigation, as public reactions and debates around immigration enforcement continue to intensify.
