News has it that the Kano police has arrested three suspected gunrunners in Kano state, this was made known by the PPRO, ASP Abubakar Aliyu during a press briefing on Friday.
According to ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the suspects were arrested on Aug. 29, at about 12:45 am in Dutsina Local Government Area of the state and a large cache of ammunition was recovered from the suspects, going further he said; ”They were arrested while attempting to deliver 740 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition to suspected armed bandits in Yauni forest, Ummadau village, Safana LGA of Katsina State.”
The PPRO also revealed that the investigation revealed that the suspects got the ammunition from someone in Nasarawa State to deliver to one Harisu, who is a suspected notorious bandit kingpin, currently at large.
He said;
“They have confessed to their involvement and implicated Harisu as the mastermind,” he added.
He said that the command was working tirelessly to apprehend more suspects and bring them to justice.
“This achievement demonstrates our commitment to combating armed banditry and gunrunning in Katsina State and beyond,”
