News has it that the governor of Akwa Ibom state has finally dumped the People’s Democratic Party (APC) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This announcement was made public by the governor himself today 6th of June 2025 at the Government House in Uyo.
According to the Governor, this decision was made after three months of consultations with stake holders in the state, going further, he thanked the PDP for showing him support in his administration but noted that it’s time to make progressive move.
Eno revealed that he is joining APC because of his critical admiration and respect for President Tinubu and he assured residents that that his administration remains committed to serving all citizens, regardless of party affiliation.
The defection event was attended by several APC governors, including Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as well as Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Bassey Otu (Cross River), among others.
