The former prime minister of the United Kingdom was sent away from the polling station where he went to vote in the local elections after forgetting his photo ID card, which is a requirement he introduced while he was still the prime minister.
The staff at the polling unit were forced to send him away when he tried to cast his vote without a photo ID card in South Oxfordshire on Thursday, May 2, PA media reported.
Recall that the rule that a photo ID card is required to vote was introduced by Boris’s Conservative government in the Elections Act 2022. Also, when the law was created it was criticized by many people and the UK’s Electoral Commission warned in 2023 that this law could exclude hundreds of thousands of people from voting.
