Electoral Reform: Tinubu Approves 2026 Amendment Bill

News has it that President Tinubu has finally signed the Electoral Act 2026 (Amendment) into law, the signing took place on Wednesday February 18, with principal officers of the National Assembly in attendance at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Recall that the National Assembly had passed the bill on Tuesday, February 17. The new law permits the electronic transmission of results but with a clause that says that election results can be manually tabulated where network failure is noticed in a polling unit.
