Ric Ross has recounted how a dinner with Jay Z changed his rap career and made him more money.

Ric Ross said that before the release of his “Trilla” album in 2008, he had dinner with Jay-Z at Philippe Chow in New York City. He said the Roc Nation boss instructed him to write songs for their intended impact, as opposed to just rapping over beats he liked.
