Nigerian content creator popularly known as Carter Efe has become Africa’s most followed streamer on Twitch, thereby surpassing his colleague Adesokan Emmanuel, known as Shank Comics.
This milestone is coming after a high-profile livestream collaboration with Afrobeats superstar, Davido, on Wednesday, which triggered a massive surge in followers. The “Machala” crooner also reportedly broke the record for the most-watched Twitch livestream in Africa, with about 83,000 viewers, and became the first African streamer to surpass 20,000 subscribers on Twitch.
During the livestream, Davido connected Efe with notable figures, including his wife, nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest, and even called out the Twitch CEO Dan Clancy. He also dialed Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, for a lively on-stream chat.
