Spanish Segunda División side Deportivo de La Coruña have confirmed they have snapped up Nigeria international Uche Agbo.
The central midfielder was initially on loan at Portuguese side Sporting Braga but he has cut short the deal to make a switch back to Spain where he has now pitched tents with Deportivo.
Agbo’s initial deal with Braga was due to expire at the end of the 2019-2020 season but the Nigerian star will be spending the remainder of the campaign at the Spanish club.
Before this latest move to Deportivo, Agbo has enjoy stints with a handful of Nigerian teams including Enyimba, Taraba FC and JUTH among others.
Agbo has also stared for some other European clubs; including Granada and Rayo Vallecano.
It is understood that an option to extend his contract has been inserted into the deal taking Agbo to Deportivo de La Coruña.
Agbo could make his debut on Sunday, January 26 when his new club travel to face Albacete in their next league game.
Things are presently not looking good for Deportivo de La Coruña, who sit 20th in the table with 24 points from 24 matches.
A couple of Nigerian players have played for this Spanish club in times past including the legendary Peter Rufai.
Interestingly, Deportivo La Coruna started this season with a new horizontal stripe shirt, but after finding themselves bottom of the Spanish second division they decided to revert back to their original shirt.
They’ve won all of their league games since!
Hopefully with the addition of the Nigerian midfielder, things can even get better
