Nigerian midfielder joins Madrid after successful medicals

Nigerian 31-year-old midfielder Rita Chikwelu has completed her move to the Spanish top-flight after agreeing on terms and conditions.
On arriving on Thursday, Oscar Farnadez is banking on her experience to revive the team’s failing fortunes in the second stanza after the Nigerian’s successful medical at the team’s medical facilities.
Haven previously played for FC United, with 28 goals to her name which included 22 to finish as the Finnish Naisten Liiga topscorer in 2009 and also scored 16 goals in 141 matches for Sweden side Umea during her glorious stint there.
At Madrid, Chikwelu reunites with fellow Nigerians Chidinma Okeke, who joined last summer but was out for at least six months due to a knee injury suffered last October whilst with the Madrid based outfit
Rita Chikwelu has joined Spanish Primera Iberdrola club Madrid from Sweden haven scored 12 goals in 64 outings and helped them finish as 2019 Swedish Women’s Cup runners-up.
It is turning out to be a productive window for Nigerian female footballers.
