It is no more a story to hear that Imo State, the Eastern Heartland is always in the news for both good and bad reasons.
Few months ago, the 2019 Governorship Election Petition Matters in Imo State almost tore the country apart with the ousted PDP Governor, Emeka Ihedioha on the streets protesting against his removal as the Imo Chief Executive and his application for the Supreme Court to review the judgment that cut short his reign. In the history of Nigeria, that was the first time a political matter went back to the highest court in the land for a review.
The declaration of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Guber Candidate of the Action Alliance as the authentic Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State by the Supreme Court was another matter that put Imo State in the news for many months. Judicial scholars and political analysts across the country could not explain what prompted that decision from the highest court but as they say it is the final arbiter, the young man had no where to run to.
The emergence of the new Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma from the Supreme Court is another story that was in the news daily, both in local and international media.
Even when the dreaded corona virus was already a threat in almost all the States in Nigeria, Imo was celebrating a zero case situation for several months until a few weeks ago when it started collecting its own share of the pandemic as State Governors collect monthly allocations.
Anyway, back to the business of the day, Imo state has produced so many political heavyweights, business tycoons, celebrities in the entertainment Industry, sports personalities and many more…
The most popular among these categories were the political heavyweights, the likes of the current Governor of the State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Former Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and the Youngest Candidate in the 2019 Imo State Governorship race, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
