The victory of Joe Biden has been confirmed by the Electoral college, making him the next president of the United States of America. The most populous state in the US which is California sent in its 55 electoral votes to Mr. Biden on Monday afternoon, officially taking him over the 270 votes needed to secure the White House.
The Congress will meet on January 6 to certify the electoral college votes.
President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are due to be sworn in at noon on January 20, 2021.
